'Surprise Ambassador' Choo Kyung-ho Poses with Indonesian-Made Hyundai Ioniq 5

[Asia Economy Bali (Indonesia) = Reporter Kim Hyewon] On the 15th (local time), Choo Kyung-ho, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, acted as a 'surprise ambassador' for Hyundai Motor Company's electric vehicle Ioniq 5, which is causing a sensation in Indonesia.

Attending the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting held in Bali, Indonesia, Deputy Prime Minister Choo toured the Ioniq 5 produced at Hyundai Motor's local factory in Indonesia at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC) in the afternoon. Before his meeting with Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Indonesia's Minister of Finance, Choo also took commemorative photos to promote the Ioniq 5. Indonesia has selected Hyundai's Genesis G80 electric vehicle and Ioniq 5 as the official protocol vehicles for the G20 Summit.

The Ioniq 5 is Hyundai Motor's first model mass-produced locally to target the Indonesian electric vehicle market. It was first unveiled at the Indonesia International Motor Show following the factory's completion in March, and after the price was announced in April, it recorded over 1,500 pre-orders, receiving positive reviews for its success.

This month, Hyundai unveiled the Stargazer, a compact multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) aimed at the Indonesian market. The Stargazer is a 6-7 seat compact MPV. It is entirely produced at Hyundai Motor Indonesia's Bekasi factory and is planned to be exported throughout Southeast Asia. The Ioniq 5 is also mass-produced at this location.
