Yoon Hee-sook, Progressive Party Standing Representative Candidate, "Will Enter the National Assembly in the 2024 General Election"

[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] On the 13th, Yoon Hee-sook, candidate for the 2nd term Standing Representative of the Jinbo Party, announced, "We will open the era of 100,000 worker party members and enter the early general election system to enter the National Assembly in the 2024 general election."

At the '2nd Nationwide Simultaneous Party Officer Election Delegates Online Debate' held the previous day, candidate Yoon presented strategies for winning constituency and proportional representation seats to enter the National Assembly independently in the general election.

He emphasized, "A party representing workers, who make up more than half of our people, is absolutely necessary, and to avoid losing its identity, workers must constitute a significant portion of the party members. We will realize workers' demand for political empowerment through the Jinbo Party by engaging in practical struggles together so that the party is clearly imprinted among workers."

The Jinbo Party has about 89,000 members, of which two-thirds (about 58,000) are irregular workers and workers receiving minimum wage.

Candidate Yoon said, "To break through both proportional and constituency seats, branding, a clear identity, policies, and figures are necessary. Just as wealth tax, free school meals, and free education are still talked about, we will create representative policies that can show the national vision the Jinbo Party envisions."

He also announced the introduction of a 'Regional Full-time Worker Joint Responsibility System' as a constituency breakthrough strategy. Candidate Yoon stated, "We will establish short-term (2024 general election), mid-term (2026 local election), and long-term (2028 general election) plans by region as part of the regional decentralization roadmap, and to support this, we will introduce the regional full-time worker joint responsibility system."

Regarding the necessity of progressive unity, he emphasized, "Worker-centered progressive unity is absolutely necessary, and through the second political empowerment of workers, we will demonstrate the possibility that a worker-centered progressive party can come to power. We will strive to offer a unified choice before the general election."
