NH Investment & Securities Completes Industry-Academic Joint Research with Seoul National University Graduate School of Data Science

[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] NH Investment & Securities announced on the 13th that it has successfully completed the "Stock Keyword and Supply Chain-Based Stock Correlation Analysis Research," a joint project with the Graduate School of Data Science at Seoul National University that began last year. The supply chain refers to the analysis and visualization of the supply network status of raw materials, intermediate goods, and other components between companies.

On the 8th, NH Investment & Securities held a joint research completion event attended by President Jung Young-chae, Professors Oh Min-hwan and Park Hyun-woo from the Graduate School of Data Science at Seoul National University, and company executives and staff.

Through this industry-academia joint research, NH Investment & Securities has, for the first time in the domestic financial investment sector, constructed a stock knowledge graph by utilizing inter-company supply chain data and combining it with unstructured data. Based on this, the company plans to provide AI-based investment information services to customers in the future.

The Graduate School of Data Science at Seoul National University conducted research on ▲analyzing news and disclosure data to extract stock keywords and inter-company correlation information ▲deriving a knowledge graph by combining extracted keywords with the supply chain ▲and developing methods to produce stock information to support customer-centered stock searches.

Once the service is launched based on the results of this research, NH Investment & Securities customers will be able to easily access in-depth information using stock-specific keywords reflecting market conditions and the industrial ecosystem. This will enable stock investment using AI-based investment information that considers corporate relationships and the latest issues.

Jung Young-chae, CEO of NH Investment & Securities, said, "This is a successful case of financial innovation through collaboration between a financial company with vast data and a research institution with data analysis technology," adding, "We will continue to enhance our digital capabilities to provide various services based on new technologies through joint research with excellent research institutions."
