Seoul Welfare Foundation Seeks Measures to Address Social Isolation... Live Broadcast on YouTube on the 29th

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Welfare Foundation announced on the 29th that it will hold the '2022 2nd Seoul Social Isolation Support Forum' to create a public discussion platform for responding to social isolation in Seoul.

Under the theme "Is the response to social isolation sufficient? From the perspective of field practitioners," this forum will be held at the Seoul Public Activity Space Samgakji on the same day and will be live-streamed on the foundation's YouTube channel.

At the forum, Kim Ki-gon, team leader of Nowon-gu Office in Seoul, and Lee Yoo-jung, team leader of Junggok Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, will discuss public and private efforts to identify socially isolated households. Jung Su-mi, director of Gangnam-gu Single-Person Household Community Center, and Yoon Jang-gi, director of Cheongju Sannam 2 My Home Center of the Housing Management Corporation, will present practical cases supporting socially isolated households.

The final presentation will be given by Cho Yoo-sung, manager of the Saenghwal Club Baram Village, who will share Japan's efforts to create communities where no one is isolated. In the subsequent comprehensive discussion, practitioners will discuss whether we are sufficiently identifying and supporting socially isolated households from the perspective of field practitioners.

Kim Sang-chul, CEO of the Seoul Welfare Foundation, said, "Although the daily lives of Seoul citizens are recovering in the endemic situation, more detailed support within the community is needed to restore the isolation conditions of vulnerable groups that occurred during the more than two years of the COVID-19 period. I hope this forum will be an opportunity to review the response processes of field practices that identified and supported socially isolated households in the community and to explore various activities."
