"School Violence: Schools, Students, Parents, and Communities Must All Engage in Prevention Activities"

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the 25th at 4 PM, Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, attended a school violence prevention and environmental cleanup campaign held in the plaza in front of Lotte Department Store Nowon Branch.

This event was organized to raise awareness among youth about school violence and to help them grow into healthy adults with proper values in a safe environment.

The campaign was attended by Mayor Oh Seung-rok, the director of Sanggye Youth Culture House, the head of Nowon Municipal Youth Center, members of the Youth Guidance Council, and about 200 youths. The program included opening remarks, a placard campaign, a bystander mask performance, and environmental cleanup.

Mayor Oh Seung-rok of Nowon District said, "I was deeply saddened to hear the news of a middle school student who made an extreme choice due to school violence today. The issue of school violence requires the attention and preventive efforts of schools, students, parents, and the local community." He added, "We will continue to do our best to create a safe educational environment."
