[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 22nd that it has opened a new administrative welfare center building for Songjeong 2-dong.
Since Songjeong 2-dong was merged with Songjeong 3-dong in 1998, it had been operating by renting the first floor of the Gwangsan-gu Council building.
However, due to the cramped and outdated facilities, residents experienced inconveniences and there were many difficulties in running resident autonomy programs.
Accordingly, a new office building was established near Songjeong 5-day Market, and operations began on the 13th.
The newly opened Songjeong 2-dong Administrative Welfare Center building, officially announced on this day, was constructed with a total floor area of 864.64㎡ across three floors above ground.
The first floor houses a comprehensive civil service office and a resident rest area (Cafe Healing Space), the second floor includes a conference room and a reserve forces unit, and the third floor contains the resident autonomy committee office, a multipurpose program room, and community spaces.
Songjeong 2-dong Chief Oh Jonggyo said, “The new spacious and pleasant home of Songjeong 2-dong will be an open space and a hub to enhance residents’ quality of life and convenience. We will strive to actively support resident and village community activities and provide high-quality administrative services.”
