Collaboration with Busan's Iconic Brands... Infusing Local Unique Sensibility Everywhere
'Matier Osiria' Grand Opening on July 1
Goal to Operate Over 10 'Matier' Brands by 2030
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] Hanwha Hotels & Resorts announced on the 13th that it will hold a pre-booking promotion ahead of the official opening of its first hotel under the new lifestyle brand 'Matier,' called 'Matier Osiria.' The pre-booking period runs from today until the 22nd.
'Matier' is a shortened form of the French word 'mati?re,' meaning material or texture, symbolizing a resting place where lives with different textures coexist. The first 'Matier Osiria,' opening in Gijang-gun, Busan, incorporates unique local sensibilities throughout the space through collaborations with regional brands.
The minibar in the rooms at 'Matier Osiria' offers drip bags from 'Momos Coffee,' a representative specialty coffee brand of Busan, and blended teas from the herbal tea company 'Red Pot Tea.' It also stocks 'Galmaegi Brewing,' Korea's first American-style craft brewery, allowing guests to enjoy flavors unique to Busan. In the future, the hotel plans to utilize idle spaces for events such as exhibitions and merchandise production in collaboration with brands reflecting local characteristics.
More than 80% of the 200 rooms at 'Matier Osiria' are suites that can accommodate four guests, making it ideal for families. It is located within a 10-minute walk of popular tourist destinations such as Lotte World Adventure Busan and Songjeong Beach. Recently, the hotel also introduced delivery robots in collaboration with LG Electronics.
The pre-booking promotion offers up to a 68% discount compared to the regular price for Matier Suite, Suite Ocean, and Prestige rooms. Purchases can be made until June 22. The stay period is from July 1 to 28. Any member of the Hanwha Resort website can enjoy the benefits.
A Hanwha Hotels & Resorts representative said, "Our goal is to operate more than 10 Matier brand hotels by 2030, each reflecting the unique characteristics of their travel destinations."
Meanwhile, Hanwha Hotels & Resorts is striving to launch distinctive new hotels in line with travel trends. Last year, it opened 'Breed Hotel Yangyang' in Gangwon-do, a location popular among the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z), with a surfing and healing concept.
