Nokchawon Launches Korea's First Functional Label Powdered Green Tea 'Chlorella Powdered Green Tea'

Nokchawon (CEO Kim Jae-sam) announced on the 8th that it has launched a functional labeled green tea product called ‘Chlorella Powdered Green Tea.’

This is the first case of the ‘General Food Functionality Labeling System’ applied to a solid tea type product in powdered tea categories.

The ‘General Food Functionality Labeling System’ allows general foods to display functional claims if there is scientific evidence, aiming to encourage the development of functional ingredients domestically, revitalize the food industry, and guarantee consumers’ right to choose by providing accurate information.

‘Chlorella Powdered Green Tea’ contains chlorella, which has been reported to help with skin health and antioxidant effects. When consuming powdered green tea, one serving (1.2g) provides 2.4 mg of total chlorophyll from chlorella.

A Nokchawon representative stated, “We launched the functional food Chlorella Powdered Green Tea so that even a cup of tea can be enjoyed more healthily and pleasantly,” adding, “We will continue research on healthy ingredients and introduce various functional labeled foods.”
