Approximately 260 Students from 8 Elementary and Middle Schools
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju City announced on the 7th that it will operate a ‘Visiting Drone Soccer Class’ for about 260 students at 8 elementary and middle schools until the 30th.
This drone soccer class was prepared to spread drone leisure culture and enhance understanding of the 4th industrial revolution, with professional instructors visiting schools directly to explain drones in an easy-to-understand manner.
The education will be conducted over a total of 9 sessions, consisting of basic theory learning the fundamental principles and regulations of drones, flight practice passing through obstacles, and 5-on-5 drone soccer mock matches.
A Buk-gu official said, “We hope this education will resolve young people’s curiosity about drones and serve as an opportunity to get closer to the 4th industrial revolution,” adding, “We will continue to discover and operate various programs utilizing the region’s drone infrastructure.”
Meanwhile, Buk-gu has been focusing on spreading drone culture by operating free drone experience classes, a drone park, and a drone practical test site, as well as being designated as a special drone free zone.
In the future, they plan to hold an AI-Drone Convergence Festival and strive to establish an AI hub city.
