[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jongno-gu is set to fully activate the Transition Support Team ahead of the launch of the 8th elected administration to enable the mayor-elect to grasp the current status of district affairs before inauguration and to maintain continuity and stability of ongoing key projects.
Accordingly, the 'Jongno-gu Mayor Transition Support Team' will work closely with the Transition Committee (3rd floor, Korean Re Building, Jongno 5-gil 68) to firmly support various matters necessary for the mayoral transition until just before the inauguration.
Through establishing a solid support system, Deputy Mayor Kang Pil-young will serve as the team leader, overseeing the administration bureau and leading the work reporting team, administrative support team, handover team, and public relations support team to provide full-scale practical support.
The Transition Support Team will hold work briefing sessions to help the mayor-elect quickly understand the basic status of district affairs and major issues, and will prepare a district vision and goals reflecting the mayor-elect’s will and governance philosophy along with a roadmap for key campaign projects.
Furthermore, in accordance with Article 105 of the Local Autonomy Act, the team will begin handover and takeover tasks to enable the mayor-elect to assume major policy projects before inauguration.
In particular, for projects directly related to residents’ lives, those requiring continuity, or involving large-scale finances, the team plans to minimize any work gaps by thoroughly and perfectly explaining these directly to the mayor-elect.
The inauguration ceremony for the 8th elected administration will be carefully prepared to foster a broad civic harmony atmosphere with participation from all sectors, aiming for a modest yet dignified event.
Kang Pil-young, acting mayor and head of the Transition Support Team, stated, “We will conduct an accurate and flawless handover process in accordance with legal procedures and regulations to ensure a successful start for the 8th elected administration. We ask for your generous support and encouragement for the future of Jongno, which stands at the starting point of new and joyful changes.”
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) has achieved its first successful investment attraction since the opening of the Jungnang Startup Support Center.
The district announced that resident company Jongdal Lab signed a memorandum of understanding for investment worth 100 million KRW from Kingo Spring on the 2nd.
Jongdal Lab is a company whose business model is to provide convenient purchasing services to consumers by creating a database of fashion raw material data using unique AI image recognition technology.
The investment decision was made due to the platform’s scalability and high overseas growth potential.
A district official said, “Although the center has only been open for three months, we were able to achieve investment results through education programs and consulting tailored to the startup stage in collaboration with the resident accelerator Kingo Spring.”
Jungnang-gu Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi said, “Thanks to the efforts of all members within the center, we were able to attract investment to the company in a short period. We will continue to provide support so that second and third investment attraction cases can follow.”
Gwangjin-gu is recruiting companies to move into the Gwangjin Economic Hub Center until June 10.
The Gwangjin Economic Hub Center was established to nurture and support startup companies, helping increase sales and create jobs, and is operated under consignment by N-SL Partners, a startup acceleration specialist.
The target companies for this recruitment are early-stage startups, solo prospective entrepreneurs, and companies with excellent technology. Currently, 22 companies are residing, and this time, eight companies will be selected to use 4-6 person offices, and 20 prospective entrepreneurs will be selected to use single-person free seats.
The Gwangjin Economic Hub Center consists of two buildings: the Kiwoom Building, formerly operated as the Venture Business Startup Support Center, and the newly constructed Doyak Building.
Office rental fees range from about 1.6 million KRW per year for 23㎡ (7 pyeong) in the Kiwoom Building to about 2.1 million KRW in the Doyak Building, which is roughly one-third cheaper than the surrounding market rates.
