Thirty members of the landscaping volunteer group from POSCO Pohang Steelworks carried out landscaping volunteer work at the Gyeongbuk Welfare Center for the Visually Impaired on the 21st.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] POSCO Pohang Steelworks conducted landscaping volunteer work on the 21st at the Gyeongbuk Welfare Center for the Visually Impaired in Daedo-dong, Nam-gu, Pohang.
This volunteer activity was organized for environmental cleanup near the welfare center, with 30 members of the 'Landscaping Volunteer Group' composed of Lee Baek-hee, head of Pohang Steelworks, and employees, acting as one-day landscapers.
The Landscaping Volunteer Group worked on trimming the branches of zelkova and hackberry trees around the welfare center. Due to a decrease in volunteers caused by COVID-19, they took time to clear the overgrown surrounding trees due to a shortage of manpower.
Lee Baek-hee, the head, said, "I hope that just like the neatly trimmed branches, the hearts of the people using the welfare center will feel lighter," and added, "In line with the easing of social distancing, we will continue to communicate with employees through volunteer activities."
On that day, the POSCO Talent Volunteer Group extended their helping hands not only to the Gyeongbuk Welfare Center for the Visually Impaired but also to various places throughout Pohang.
