'Young Maestro' Conelius Meister to Make Korean Debut on the 26th

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] The young German maestro Cornelius Meister will make his domestic debut by conducting the KBS Symphony Orchestra.

The KBS Symphony Orchestra announced on the 23rd that it will hold its 778th regular concert, "Symphony of Faith," on the 26th at the Concert Hall of the Seoul Arts Center.

Cornelius Meister currently serves as the music director of the Stuttgart State Opera and the Stuttgart State Orchestra in Germany. He is a figure attracting great attention in the music world as he is scheduled to conduct Wagner's opera "Tristan und Isolde" at this year's Bayreuth Festival in Germany.

In this performance, world-renowned clarinetist Sharon Kam from Israel will appear as a soloist, meeting Korean fans for the first time in 11 years.

Sharon Kam debuted at the age of 16 with a collaboration with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and has performed with the world's top orchestras such as the Chicago Symphony, Berlin Philharmonic, and London Symphony for over 20 years.

Regarding this performance, Cornelius Meister said, "The first meeting with the Korean audience will be as sublime and grand as Bruckner's Symphony No. 7, and Sharon Kam's enchanting clarinet melodies will make the concert hall even more beautiful."

At this regular concert, the KBS Symphony Orchestra will present Weber's "Clarinet Concerto No. 1" and Bruckner's "Symphony No. 7."
