'Comeback' After 3 Years: Korea's Largest Rose Festival... Ulsan Grand Park Healing and Love with 3 Million Roses Celebration Ulsan Grand Park Rose Festival.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The ‘Ulsan Grand Park Rose Festival,’ the largest spring flower festival in the nation that was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, is making a comeback after three years.

Ulsan City announced on the 23rd that the ‘Ulsan Grand Park Rose Festival,’ which had been halted since 2019, will resume this year.

The 14th Rose Festival will be held for five days from the 25th to the 29th at the Rose Garden and Nammun Plaza in Ulsan Grand Park. The festival’s theme is ‘Love Story in Ulsan,’ symbolizing the experience and memory of love, happiness, and healing.

This year’s festival will be conducted as a ‘Five Senses Satisfaction Experience Festival.’

Visitors can visually enjoy 3 million roses of 265 varieties from 12 countries, the largest scale nationwide, while experiencing various programs featuring fragrance and immersive content.

The symbolic sculptures of the festival clearly represent this year’s five senses satisfaction theme.

The festival’s symbolic sculptures, the ‘Rose Diffuser’ and the ‘Giant Rose Bouquet,’ are works by contemporary artist Kim Dong-hoon and serve as photo zones where visitors can fully immerse themselves in the beauty of Ulsan adorned with 3 million roses.

Another core feature of the five senses satisfaction festival is the ‘Immersive Media Exhibition Hall.’

Using LED walls, media art experience spaces are created with themes of flower paths, the sea, promotion, and experience. Additionally, every night during the festival, a fantastic light show will take place.

At the Galtimot area, a media facade performance using the Ulsan City logo and flower tree sculptures will be held, and at the Rose Garden area, a rose flower path made with night lighting will be displayed.

Street performances, mime shows, and children’s musicals by local Ulsan artists will also be held daily, both day and night, providing a rich variety of attractions.

An official from Ulsan City said, “The revival of the ‘Ulsan Grand Park Rose Festival’ after three years is expected to maximize citizens’ satisfaction with the return to daily life after COVID-19 and provide a wonderful time to fully enjoy the beautiful spring days in Ulsan. We will do our best to ensure that it is a safe and enjoyable festival conveying messages of love, healing, and happiness.”
