[Asia Economy Sejong=Reporter Dongwoo Lee] Korea Electrical Safety Corporation announced on the 19th that it will participate in the '2022 International Electric Power Exhibition' held at COEX in Seoul.
Hosted by the Korea Electrical Engineers Association and sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the 'International Electric Power Exhibition' is the largest domestic event held since 2003 to showcase future technology trends in the power energy sector. This year, it is held from the 18th to the 20th, with participation from over 370 companies from 30 countries.
On the first day of the event, a seminar on electrical equipment diagnostic technology was held. The seminar featured four presentations on topics including 'Application of Distributed Power KESC (Kescode, Electrical Equipment Inspection and Maintenance Standards) and Utilization of Diagnostic Techniques,' 'Electrical Equipment Lifespan and Management Due to Insulation Degradation,' 'Trend Safety Diagnosis and Use of Electrical Equipment Safety Grades,' and 'Application of Electrical Risk Safety Diagnosis under the Serious Accident Punishment Act.'
Along with this, a book launch ceremony for 'Field Electrical Equipment Trouble Resolution Cases' was held, and plaques of appreciation were presented to contributors involved in the preparation of the publication.
'Field Electrical Equipment Trouble Resolution Cases' is a collection of excellent cases selected through a contest conducted for internal staff and related agency technicians. Among approximately 230 submitted accident cases, 105 were selected after review by an editorial committee composed of internal and external experts.
During the event, the corporation operated a promotional booth introducing digital electrical safety remote inspection systems and advanced measuring equipment. They also promoted the development of an app for identifying short-circuit and thermal traces for electrical fire investigations, a virtual reality-based inspection and diagnostic training system, and overseas engineering projects.
President Ji-hyun Park said, "Digital transformation linked with IoT devices is accelerating not only in traditional electrical equipment but also across all energy industry sectors including renewable energy. As we face a paradigm shift in electrical safety, I hope our safety diagnostic technology can take one step closer to world-class standards."
