[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Jeju Beer announced on the 17th that it will launch its first lager product, 'Jeju Lager.'
Jeju Lager is an all-malt lager style characterized by its refreshing taste. Applying the German Beer Purity Law principle, it is a 100% all-malt authentic lager made using the four main ingredients of beer: water, barley malt, hops, and yeast, differentiating it from existing beers.
As Jeju Beer's first lager beer release, it is numbered 'Project 001' to signify the first lager project. Inspired by the regional identity of Jeju, it was developed using yeast cultured directly in Jeju through Jeju Beer's Brew-Lab brewing science.
The alcohol content is 5.0%, available in 500ml cans for the home channel, and in 330ml bottles and draft beer for the entertainment channel. The plan is to expand the distribution network by utilizing the existing distribution network centered on the ale series. The convenience store retail price is 11,000 KRW for 4 cans, the same as the existing ale series.
Moon Hyuk-ki, CEO of Jeju Beer, said, "Jeju Lager embodies Jeju Beer's experimental spirit of constantly researching to make the best beer and the uncompromising craft spirit regarding quality," adding, "By setting the price similar to imported lagers, we expect to satisfy both existing lager consumers and those who want to enjoy new beers."
