[Golf Topic] Woods "Deep Practice Ahead of PGA Championship"... Power Up?

[Asia Economy Kim Hyun-jun, Golf Specialist Reporter] ○... "Practice, and more practice."

The "Returned Golf Emperor" Tiger Woods (USA, photo) is said to be deeply immersed in practice ahead of the second major PGA Championship of this season... On the 16th (Korean time), he completed a practice round at Southern Hills Golf Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma (par 70, 7,365 yards). Following a private practice round on the 29th of last month, he revealed his physical condition to the media this day.

Woods stated, "Completing all four rounds on foot at Augusta National, which has steep uphill and downhill slopes during the Masters, was a great achievement," adding, "I was in a lot of pain the day after the Masters ended, but I fully recovered the next day and did leg strength training at the gym." He expressed confidence, saying, "The more I use my legs, the stronger they get," and "I am looking forward to the tournament." His caddie, Joe LaCava, also supported this by saying, "His endurance has improved."

In fact, Woods' 47th place at the Masters is big news. Last February, he was seriously injured in a car accident in Los Angeles, California, breaking both legs, and after lying in bed for three months, he went through several stages including wheelchair and crutches before making a comeback. He appeared on the PGA Tour for the first time in a full 1 year and 5 months since the "Fall Masters" in November 2020, showcasing 300-yard drives and short game skills comparable to his prime. All eyes are once again on the PGA Championship.
