"Challenged Lee Jae-myung but went to Incheon"
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] Ahn Cheol-soo, the People Power Party candidate for Seongnam Bundang-gap, targeted Lee Jae-myung, the former governor of Gyeonggi Province and the general election campaign committee chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, saying, "Who is the Seongnam Joker who acquired land at a low price under the guise of public development?"
On the 15th, at the opening ceremony of the election office held in Bundang-gu, Seongnam City, candidate Ahn stated, "Who is the Seongnam Joker who inserted a straw into the expensive apartments that bypassed the price ceiling system and funneled 1 trillion won in profits to the real estate special investigation cartel?"
He said, "I said let's confront each other here, the political hometown where I have responsibility for Daejang-dong as the mayor of Seongnam and governor of Gyeonggi Province," adding, "But without any courage, he went to Incheon, where he has no ties."
He continued, "We must judge the political forces that act to favor their own side with taxes so that such people can never set foot again," emphasizing, "I, Ahn Cheol-soo, am the tailored candidate who will return the benefits of Bundang and Seongnam to the residents of Bundang and citizens of Seongnam and restore the fallen pride."
On the same day, he vowed, "I will make Bundang an economic city where world-class companies and talents gather."
Candidate Ahn said, "The success of this government is the success of the Republic of Korea and its people," adding, "The first gateway is this local election. The ruling party must win this local election to secure reform momentum in the minority ruling majority opposition situation."
