Excellence in All Administrative Fields Including General Administration, Welfare, Economy, and Health
[Gokseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cha Jong-sun] - Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 11th that it was selected as an excellent city/county in Jeollanam-do in the 2022 Government Joint Evaluation (2021 performance) conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
The Government Joint Evaluation is a system that evaluates the performance of nationwide common affairs annually to enhance the policy accountability of local governments. This year, the evaluation was conducted based on 108 indicators (87 quantitative, 21 qualitative) across 5 major national goals. Quantitative indicators measure performance by whether targets are achieved, while qualitative indicators select excellent cases for each indicator.
In this evaluation, Gokseong-gun achieved 72 out of 73 quantitative indicators, recording a target achievement rate of 98.6%. It achieved excellent results evenly across all fields including general administration, welfare, economy, and health.
In particular, it ranked first in 19 quantitative indicators related to residents' practical lives, such as the child care service support rate, sports class voucher execution rate, reduction rate of child traffic accidents in school zones, and establishment rate of landslide prevention response systems.
Additionally, it ranked first in Jeollanam-do in 15 weighted indicators where weights are applied upon target achievement.
In qualitative indicators, seven indicators including the establishment of Gokseong Dream Growth Maru, activation of village autonomous communities, creation of tree houses, and tree climbing forest experiences were recognized as excellent cases by Jeollanam-do. Among them, the excellent case of activating village autonomous communities was also selected as an excellent case by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
A county official said, “This achievement is a meaningful result officially recognizing our county’s excellent administrative capabilities. We will carefully analyze and supplement underperforming indicators and discover more excellent policy cases to realize empathetic administration that raises the happiness index of our residents.”
