On the 30th, the decision will be made on whether to detain two accomplices who were caught by the prosecution on charges of providing a hideout for Lee Eun-hae (31) and Jo Hyun-soo (30), suspects in the "Valley Murder" case, during their time on the run.
According to the legal community, the Criminal Division 2 of the Incheon District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Kim Chang-soo) recently requested arrest warrants on the 29th for A (32) and B (31), who were arrested on charges of aiding fugitives. The decision on their detention will be made late in the afternoon on the 30th.
Mr. A and others are suspected of assisting Lee and Jo, who disappeared while under investigation for murder and other charges in December last year while out on bail. Investigations revealed that on December 13, last year, when Lee and others were being questioned by prosecutors, Mr. A planned the escape with them at his home. He provided money to secure a hideout until their capture and had Mr. B rent an officetel near Samsong Station in Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province, to hide them. The prosecution is also investigating two other accomplices under the same charges.
Lee and Jo are accused of murdering Yoon (aged 39 at the time of death) on June 30, 2019, at 8:24 p.m. in Yongsogye Valley, Gapyeong County, Gyeonggi Province. A friend of Jo (30), who was playing in the valley with the victim before the victim's death, is also charged with murder and other offenses.
Lee and Jo disappeared before their second interrogation by the prosecution on December 14 last year and were caught by the police on the 16th, four months later.
