Candidate Kim Gyeongja plans to secure funds by reducing total budget by 7%, cutting civil engineering budget by 6%, and contingency funds by 1%

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Kim Kyungja, the Democratic Party of Korea's preliminary candidate for Hampyeong County Governor, pledged on the 27th to "provide a support fund of 1 million won per person to all Hampyeong residents."
Kim Kyungja stated in a press release that "inappropriate budgets such as civil engineering account for 6% of Hampyeong County's total budget of 500 billion won," adding, "With 7% of the budget, combining 1% contingency funds and 6% inappropriate budgets, approximately 31 billion won can be allocated to provide 1 million won per person to about 32,000 Hampyeong residents."
Kim said, "Over the past 2 years and 4 months, the nationwide spread of COVID-19 has caused enormous economic damage across all sectors including self-employed, small business owners, manufacturing, service industries, and agriculture," and added, "I will reduce unnecessary budgets to ensure residents receive tangible benefits."
She continued, "By adjusting projects whose budget priorities and effectiveness are questionable, I will ensure that all future budgets are used for the residents," emphasizing, "I will create a Hampyeong that is nationally proud through transparent politics."
Kim Kyungja, the preliminary candidate for Hampyeong County Governor, promised key pledges including providing 1 million won support funds to all residents, fostering smart agriculture, establishing a general hospital, creating a Hanwoo (Korean beef) street, and realizing clean and transparent politics.
Kim has received favorable reviews for her active legislative activities aimed at solving educational issues in Jeonnam, having served as chairperson of the 11th Jeonnam Provincial Council Youth Development Special Committee and vice-chairperson of the Planning and Administration Committee, and for leading the proposal of ordinances such as the 'Jeonnam Talent Development Institute Resident Education Ordinance' and the 'Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education Suffrage Education Activation Ordinance.'
