Incentive Support for Travel Agencies with Monthly Accumulated Customers Over 20
Up to 50% Additional Airfare Support for Tourist Courses Using Pohang and Gyeongju Airports
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Pohang City, Gyeongbuk, is operating incentives to attract tourists in preparation for the recovery of daily life from COVID-19 and the full-scale post-COVID tourism.
The incentives will be provided to travel agencies that recruit group tourists (10 or more people) and small individual tourists (2 to 9 people) with a monthly cumulative total of 20 or more guests, based on criteria for day trips, overnight stays, and other categories. Additionally, if a tourism course using Pohang Gyeongju Airport is developed, up to 50% of the airfare can be additionally supported depending on the timing.
These incentives are expected to greatly contribute to the creation of a full-fledged Pohang tourism boom, coinciding with the opening of Hwanho Park’s “Space Walk,” which has emerged as the hottest place, and the marine cultural space Yeonam District’s “Sky Walk.” Detailed information about other incentive supports can be found on the Pohang City Hall website.
Seo Hyun-jun, Director of the Tourism Industry Division, said, “Many new tourist attractions are being developed in line with Pohang’s name as a marine cultural tourism city, and we feel that our city’s recognition has greatly increased compared to previous years. Especially as the paradigm of domestic tourism changes, not only bus tours but also new tourism products using various transportation means such as Pohang Gyeongju Airport and Ulleung cruise late-night departures are being launched. We hope for the active interest of travel agencies wishing to receive support and the operation of tourism products that are practically helpful to tourists.”
