[Asia Economy Online Issue Team] Actress Choi Jung-yoon (45), who is going through a divorce process, revealed that she challenged herself to become a licensed real estate agent for the future with her daughter.
On the 13th, Choi Jung-yoon appeared on KBS2's "Park Won-sook's Let's Live Together Season 3" and shared her feelings about being separated from her husband for three years.
Having appeared in many daily dramas, Choi Jung-yoon said, "These days, daily dramas have mostly disappeared. I wonder what I should do to make a living."
In response, Park Won-sook advised, "It's always good to show a new side of yourself," adding, "The chances of being chosen are different between someone who just waits at home and someone who tries to make a change." Kim Young-ran also added, "Studying to keep up with the changes in the world is good," and Park Won-sook said, "Some people even go all-in on studying stocks."
Then Choi Jung-yoon explained, "I studied to become a licensed real estate agent. Of course, I didn't pass," adding, "When I went to look at houses, most of the real estate agents were women. There were moms and older ladies, so I thought if I didn't act, this job would be okay. I vaguely felt that I wouldn't lose much time raising my child."
Park Won-sook encouraged her, saying, "There is nothing to be discouraged about. Even if you start from the bottom, you can do it all." Choi Jung-yoon honestly shared, "I didn't think like that when I didn't have a child. But when you have a dependent family member, those worries come up."
When asked, "How long have you been separated?" Choi Jung-yoon replied, "It's been three years of separation. I'm looking for a better direction for my daughter," adding, "The priority is the child. If a couple meets and brings a child into the world, they naturally have to take responsibility, and in a way, it's about finding a better path for the child."
She continued, "My child waits for her father so much. When she was young, I said it was because her father was busy working, but now she says her father left. If it were just the two of us, we would have divorced long ago."
She also said, "A young child looks for her father and asks, 'When will you come back? Why don't you live with the family?' Only those living together understand that feeling. My feelings change twelve times a day," adding, "I wondered if divorce was the right thing to do. I was thinking of waiting until my child said, 'Mom, okay, let's get a divorce.' If the child wants her father, why should she suffer because of adults' problems?"
Meanwhile, Choi Jung-yoon married Yoon Tae-joon (40), son of former E-Land Vice Chairman Park Sung-kyung, in December 2011 and gave birth to a daughter in 2016, five years later. Choi Jung-yoon revealed last October that she is going through a divorce process with Yoon Tae-joon.
Yoon Tae-joon debuted in 1999 as part of the group "Eagle Five" and has been active in the entertainment industry. After majoring in economics in the United States, he ran a personal business separate from the E-Land Group, but in 2017, he was sentenced to probation and fined 500 million won for stock price manipulation worth billions.
