Breathing New Life into Online Sales Channels for Local Small Business Owners
[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Jeonju City announced on the 12th that it has opened ‘Sodam Space Jeonju,’ a digital commerce specialized institution that helps small business owners in the Jeonbuk region expand their online sales channels.
This space was established after being selected in the digital commerce institution establishment and operation project contest conducted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Small Enterprise and Market Service. The name ‘Sodam Space Jeonju’ comes from ‘Sodam,’ meaning the stories (chat) shared by small business owners, and ‘Space,’ meaning a place where people gather.
In particular, it is a space that provides all services necessary for transitioning to live commerce, including all commerce education conducted online, consulting, and marketing promotions.
Sodam Space Jeonju features a space on the first and second floors designed for small business owners dreaming of digital transformation.
Specifically, it includes a total of five studios: △ ‘Fashion’ studio △ ‘Living’ studio △ ‘Cooking’ studio △ ‘Chroma key’ studio △ ‘Large’ studio, which offers a spacious area freely usable with large props matching the concept, as well as a broadcasting editing room, an education center conducting customized live broadcast utilization training for small business owners, and a shared office space for communication among small business owners.
Through Sodam Space Jeonju, Jeonju City plans to provide professional education such as short-term training, live broadcast practice training, and market merchant specialized education to help small business owners unfamiliar with digital commerce broadcasting understand and directly conduct live commerce.
Additionally, to support online sales of small business products, detailed product introduction pages will be created to be utilized on various shopping platforms, and support will be provided to enable live broadcasts on platforms such as Naver and Grip.
Sodam Space Jeonju also offers studio and equipment rental services for small business owners who have their own live broadcast channels.
Meanwhile, Jeonju City and the Jeonju Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency held an opening ceremony on the 12th at ‘Sodam Space Jeonju,’ which was created by remodeling the former Youth Freedom Center building (107 Seogwi-ro, Deokjin-gu) near Palbok Park, attended by Jeonju Mayor Kim Seung-su and Jeonju City Council Chairman Kang Dong-hwa, among others.
Jeonju Mayor Kim Seung-su emphasized, “Through Sodam Space Jeonju, we will support local small business owners in promoting their excellent products and competitive technologies to consumers nationwide through real-time online sales. We will strive to make this space a digital transformation hub that can not only increase small business sales but also accelerate the recovery of the local economy.”
