[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] The Presidential Transition Committee's Blue House Relocation Task Force (TF) added a 'Blue House Relocation and Opening' menu on the transition committee's website on the 5th, officially starting online communication regarding the opening of the Blue House and the relocation of the Presidential Office.
Choi Ji-hyun, the chief deputy spokesperson of the transition committee, stated at a briefing held at the transition committee office in Tongui-dong in the afternoon, "This reflects President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol's determination to open a new Yongsan era by communicating with the people."
The Blue House Relocation TF plans to answer public questions about the Blue House opening through the 'All About Opening' bulletin board within the 'Blue House Relocation and Opening' menu, including information on how to enter on the opening day, hiking trail courses, photo zones, and more. Additionally, communication channels such as the meaning of the Blue House opening, an introduction to the premises, and card news will be prepared.
Regarding the highly publicized relocation of the Presidential Office, a section will be operated to inform about the significance of the Yongsan relocation, the history of Yongsan and Yongsan Park, and the concept of an open Presidential Office.
Furthermore, the official Blue House opening website, 'Online Communication Center,' will be launched next week, and on the 10th of next month, information on the Blue House opening guide, hiking trail routes, and event programs will be disclosed. The Online Communication Center will also serve as a channel to collect public opinions on future uses of the Blue House.
The name of the Presidential Office will also be solicited from the public within this month. President-elect Yoon announced last month that the name would be chosen through a public contest along with the relocation plan. The spokesperson's office explained, "The naming contest for the Presidential Office will be conducted by thoroughly collecting public thoughts and opinions, similar to the 'What the People Wish for the President-elect' section on the transition committee website."
Yoon Han-hong, team leader of the Blue House Relocation TF, said, "The Blue House opening on the 10th of next month is the first promise to the people marking the beginning of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration," adding, "As public interest is higher than ever, we are making every effort to prepare for the opening."
