Yeongam-gun Implements Safety Measures for Viewing Cherry Blossom Road and Wangin Baksa Historic Site

Wangin Festival Postponed to Prevent the Spread of COVID-19

Yeongam-gun Implements Safety Measures for Viewing Cherry Blossom Road and Wangin Baksa Historic Site

[Yeongam=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-kyung] Yeongam-gun, Jeollanam-do postponed the Yeongam Wangin Cultural Festival to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The county officially postponed the festival schedule earlier this month but will keep the 100-ri Cherry Blossom Road and the Wangin Doctor Historic Site open for residents and tourists.

This year, it is expected that many tourists will visit the 100-ri Cherry Blossom Road and the Wangin Doctor Historic Site, so a comprehensive spring tourism task force has been formed to implement safety viewing measures.

Specialized quarantine personnel will be deployed at tourist sites to conduct daily disinfection to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and measures will be taken to control street vendors to prohibit food consumption and provide traffic guidance in congested areas such as main roads and parking lots.

A Yeongam-gun official said, “Although it is regrettable to postpone the Yeongam Wangin Cultural Festival, we ask that you visit again with your family in the second half of the year if the COVID-19 situation improves.”
