'Having Lived Here, Jangheung Is the Best' Essay Contest Held

Applications open from April 4 to May 27, total prize money 10 million KRW

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Seunghyun] Jangheung-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 31st that it will hold the 3rd Local Life Happiness Story essay contest titled ‘Having Lived Here, Jangheung is the Best’.

The contest awards a total prize of 10 million KRW to 90 winners, including 1 million KRW (Jangheung Love Gift Certificate) for the grand prize winner.

The winning entries will be published in an essay collection to serve as a guide for settling in Jangheung.

As of the 4th of next month, anyone who is a resident of Jangheung-gun can apply, with one submission allowed per household. Winners of the Excellence Award or higher from the 1st and 2nd contests are restricted from applying.

The theme is happy stories experienced while living in Jangheung, including various sincere and happy life stories of marriage, multi-child, and multi-generational families, youth successful startups, jobs, and cases of returning to farming or rural settlement. Detailed information and application forms can be searched and downloaded from the announcement section on the official website, and inquiries can be made to the General Affairs Division of Jangheung County Office.

Meanwhile, the county is promoting the ‘3 Major Areas, 59 Policies’ plan for population and youth development, with key projects including ▲nation’s first marriage encouragement grant (up to 7 million KRW) ▲moving-in encouragement grant of 100,000 KRW ▲Youth Happiness UP Project ▲Youth Culture Welfare Card support ▲childbirth encouragement grant up to 10 million KRW ▲infertility treatment and procedure support ▲full coverage of fees for postpartum mother and newborn health care workers.

A county official said, “This contest was prepared to share the vivid process of successfully settling in Jangheung, providing residents with local pride and love, and serving as a guide for those wishing to live in Jangheung through happy local life stories. We hope for active participation and interest.”
