[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwi-yeol] Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, operates an agricultural work delegation team for farms facing difficulties in agricultural management due to aging.
The agricultural work delegation team is a project implemented through cooperation between Yeongyang-gun and local agricultural cooperatives to increase agricultural productivity for farms experiencing difficulties in farming activities. The support targets are farmers aged 70 or older within the jurisdiction, female sole farmers, and farmers registered as disabled. The project scale plans to support 790 farms and 450 hectares within the jurisdiction with an investment of 180 million KRW from Yeongyang-gun's own budget and 140 million KRW from the agricultural cooperatives.
Farms wishing to receive the agricultural work delegation service and farmers who want to participate in the delegation team can apply through the local agricultural cooperative.
Nam Han-jin, Director of Distribution Support Division, said, "We plan to help farmers who are having difficulties in farming activities to farm stably," adding, "We hope this will increase land use rates and help increase farm income."
