[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] A director-level public official in Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, accused of forcibly molesting a female employee, has been cleared without indictment.
On the 17th, the Western Gwangju Police Station announced that it had decided not to indict Director A, a Grade 4 public official, who was accused of molestation using power in the course of duty.
After receiving a complaint in July stating that "Director A used his position at work to make inappropriate physical contact with a subordinate employee," the police conducted a multifaceted investigation, including checking communication records.
However, they were unable to confirm specific circumstances of molestation.
A police official explained, "After investigating from various angles regarding the credibility of the statements, the case was closed due to insufficient evidence."
After the allegations surfaced, Mr. A was reported to be on standby at his home. Since the investigative agency has issued a decision of no charges, it is expected that his suspension from duty will be lifted soon.
