[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Trainee Reporter Lee Seryeong] Ulsan Ulju-gun is preparing for winter snow removal by installing an automatic brine spraying device at Jijigogae on County Road No. 31, which connects Beomseo-eup and Dudong-myeon.
The brine spraying device is a snow removal system that remotely sprays brine solution and is effective during heavy snowfall on steep road sections.
It is designed for automatic control via smartphones and computers, allowing responsible officials to monitor road conditions through CCTV and spray the brine solution without being physically present at the site. Manual operation on-site is also possible.
The county plans to invest about 300 million KRW to install a 20,000-liter storage tank along a 1.4 km section of Dudong-ro on County Road No. 31. After completing the Jijigogae alignment improvement work, curb installation, and road surface drainage construction, the brine spraying device installation is scheduled to be completed by February next year.
The installation section is a mountainous road with insufficient sunlight in winter and steep slopes, posing a high risk of traffic accidents. Due to heavy vehicle traffic, the road becomes icy and inconvenient to use when it snows.
A county official stated, “Once the brine spraying device is installed, habitual freezing zones and snow removal vulnerable areas will become safer,” adding, “We will provide a safe and comfortable road environment for road users.”
