[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] 2PM member Hwang Chansung announced that he will become a father upon getting married. He also revealed plans to start anew without renewing his contract with his agency.
On the 15th, Hwang Chansung posted on social networking service (SNS), "I have been in a long-term relationship. Someone who has become both a friend I can talk about anything with and a lover," adding, "After being discharged from the military, I was preparing and planning to get married, but a blessing of new life came sooner than expected, and I am thinking of getting married as early as the beginning of next year."
He continued, "(My girlfriend) is still in the early stages of pregnancy, so we are being very cautious," sharing the news of both marriage and pregnancy simultaneously.
Regarding his fianc?e, he said, "The person who will become my spouse in building a family is not someone in the same profession as me, so I kindly ask for your understanding in not disclosing her identity."
About his future activities, Hwang Chansung stated, "I have been with JYP Entertainment for 15 years, and my contract is set to expire in January next year," adding, "With a new family to accompany my life, I had thorough discussions with the company about paving my own path, and we agreed not to renew the contract."
He added, "We made the decision prioritizing the future through mutual communication, and the company also gladly wished for a bright future," and said, "I will always support the growth of the company, which has been my root and like a longtime friend."
He also said, "Although the exact direction has not been decided yet, I will share plans so that fans do not worry."
Meanwhile, Hwang Chansung first gained recognition through the 2006 MBC sitcom 'Unstoppable High Kick' and debuted as a member of the group 2PM in 2008, releasing popular songs such as '10 Points Out of 10,' 'Our House,' and 'Only Honey.' He also appeared in dramas like 'Level 7 Civil Servant,' 'Wok of Love,' and 'What's Wrong with Secretary Kim,' and is currently appearing on Channel A's 'Show Window: The Queen's House.'
