Increase of over 60 billion KRW compared to last year... Shinan Construction Gains Momentum with Renewed Hope
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Jeonnam Sinan-gun (Governor Park Woo-ryang) secured 340 billion won in major national and local government project funds for 2022, an increase of more than 60 billion won compared to the previous year, as a result of efforts to actively reflect government budgets.
According to the county on the 8th, starting with a project discovery briefing session aligned with government policies, they continuously monitored progress through policy meetings, actively responded to central government ministries, and closely cooperated with local members of the National Assembly. As a result of systematic preparation to secure national funding, they were able to secure the national and local government funds.
Major projects for 2022 include road construction projects such as the Sinjang~Bokryong National Road No. 2 facility improvement with 17.3 billion won, and the Aphae~Hwawon National Road No. 77 connecting road with 42.9 billion won; port and agricultural infrastructure strengthening projects such as Gageodo Port restoration work with 18.5 billion won, Hongdo Port development project with 4 billion won, Heuksando Port development project with 15.5 billion won, Yeongsangang IV District Section 4-2 large-scale agricultural development project with 5 billion won, and multipurpose rural water development project with 7.1 billion won.
Additionally, projects to strengthen resident security include the construction of the new Sinan Police Station with 9.9 billion won and the new Jaeun Police Substation in Mokpo with 470 million won, as well as the small airport construction project on Heuksando Island with 8.1 billion won included.
In particular, during the National Assembly review process, 100 million won was allocated for design service fees for the construction of the Bigeum~Amtae Yeondo Bridge (total project cost 387.2 billion won), taking a step forward in improving the quality of life for island residents. Furthermore, 1 billion won was additionally allocated for the eco-friendly individual oyster production support project for new income businesses, and 1 billion won for the premium branding project of traditional peanuts as an alternative crop to green onions.
Governor Park Woo-ryang said, “This is the result of the staff’s best efforts to secure national and local government budgets to improve difficult financial conditions amid the prolonged COVID-19 situation. I thank all those who worked together, including local members of the National Assembly, for securing the budget. Based on the achievements made this year, we will do our best next year to materialize them and build a hopeful Sinan.”
