IHQ Partners with NewRank to Enter Chinese Commerce Market

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] IHQ is partnering with New Rank to carry out a Chinese 'Wanghong (influencer)' training project.

Comprehensive media group IHQ announced on the 6th that it signed a business agreement with Chinese big data analytics company New Rank on the 3rd.

The business agreement ceremony was held with the attendance of Park Jongjin, IHQ General President, Lee Hongrim, New Rank Korea CEO, and other related personnel.

Through the business agreement, they agreed to jointly conduct creator auditions targeting Chinese residents in Korea, provide management for activities in China, support content production, and handle promotion and marketing within China.

IHQ owns five broadcasting channels including Channel IHQ and Dramax, as well as the management division SidusHQ. It is striving to strengthen digital content and activate its global network. Leveraging its management experience and media production know-how, IHQ plans to assist creators in entering the Chinese commerce market.

New Rank, in which Tencent, China's largest IT company, participates as the second largest shareholder, provides product services such as content marketing, content startup services, e-commerce, and copyright distribution based on solid information technology. Based on its experience in training many 'Wanghong' in a short period and big data collected in China, it will collaborate on content promotion and marketing for creators.

Park Jongjin, IHQ General President, said, "Collaboration with New Rank, which is gaining attention in China, is expected to have an effect on expanding digital content," adding, "Through this cooperation, we want to show that Korea and China are actively exchanging."

Lee Hongrim, New Rank Korea CEO, introduced, "This will be a great opportunity not only to train Wanghong but also to introduce Korea to Chinese people who are very interested in Korea."
