BTS Tops 9 Categories on US Billboard Year-End Charts Group BTS.


[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dong-hyun] The group BTS topped a total of nine categories on Billboard's year-end charts, including 'Top Artists ? Duo/Group.'


According to the 2021 year-end charts announced on December 2 (local time) on the official website of the U.S. music media Billboard, BTS ranked first in nine categories, including 'Top Artists ? Duo/Group,' 'Hot 100 Artists ? Duo/Group,' 'Billboard 200 Artists ? Duo/Group,' 'Billboard Global Excl. U.S. Artists,' 'Billboard Global Excl. U.S. Songs,' 'Digital Song Sales Artists,' 'Digital Song Sales,' 'World Albums Artists,' and 'World Albums.'


In particular, BTS secured the top spot for the second consecutive year in 'Top Artists ? Duo/Group,' 'Billboard 200 Duo/Group,' 'Digital Song Sales Artists,' and 'Digital Song Sales.' They have maintained the number one position in the 'World Albums Artists' category for five consecutive years since 2017 and have held the top spot in 'World Albums' for four consecutive years since 2018.


BTS also swept the two newly established 'Global' charts this year. They topped the 'Billboard Global Excl. U.S.' chart with "Dynamite."


On the 'Digital Song Sales' chart, "Butter" took first place, followed by "Dynamite" in second. On the 'World Albums' chart, the album BE and their fourth full-length album MAP OF THE SOUL : 7 ranked first and second respectively.


Billboard commented, "BTS dominated the world in 2021," adding, "They are the top artists and the group with the best songs on the year-end Billboard Global (Excl. U.S.) chart."


Meanwhile, BTS successfully concluded their first offline concert in two years, BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE - LA, held at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, USA, on November 27?28 and December 1?2 last month.
