[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Juhyung] It has been revealed that former People Power Party emergency committee chairman Kim Jong-in abruptly canceled his scheduled radio broadcast appearance on the 1st. The production team reportedly received the cancellation notice from Kim's side about an hour before the live broadcast.
Park Jaehong, the host of CBS Radio's current affairs program 'Hanpanseungbu,' posted on his Facebook on the 1st, "In the first part of today's 'Hanpanseungbu' 100th episode special, as previously announced, former emergency committee chairman Kim Jong-in was originally scheduled to appear in the studio. However, about an hour before the live broadcast, we received a unilateral cancellation notice from him."
He added, "The CBS production team deeply regrets this," and pointed out, "Broadcasting is a public good, not a campaign committee. It is a promise to the listeners."
He further stated, "There must have been various circumstances, but even now, without any apology, we strongly express our regret once again over the unilateral cancellation of the broadcast appearance."

'Hanpanseungbu' is a current affairs program broadcast every weekday from 6:25 PM to 8:00 PM. According to Park's post, Kim's side appears to have notified the cancellation around 5:25 PM.
On the same day, Kim attended the book launch event of Democratic Party lawmaker Park Yong-jin held at Kyobo Tower in Jongno-gu, Seoul. Park served as chief of staff when Kim was the emergency committee chairman of the Democratic Party in 2016.
In his congratulatory speech at the event, Kim said, "What I hoped for during the presidential primary was that a young and ambitious candidate would emerge to lead the country, and that the country would change compared to the past. I wished for someone born after 1970 to become president, but among the candidates born after 1970, only lawmaker Park was there. Although this time it may be considered a failure, I hope the intended goal will be achieved next time."
At the event, when asked by reporters about his thoughts on the recent internal strife within the People Power Party, Kim dismissed the question, saying, "I have no idea what is happening there at all."
When asked if he had spoken with People Power Party leader Lee Jun-seok, he replied, "Not at all, I have had no contact whatsoever." When asked about the possibility of joining the Democratic Party's election committee, he drew a line, saying, "Don't talk nonsense."
