Students from the Department of Hotel Culinary Nutrition at Dong-Eui University of Science are taking a group photo with President Kim Young-do to commemorate the award.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, trainee reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Students from the on-campus club Chef's Dream (K-Food) of the Department of Hotel Culinary Nutrition at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology won gold medals across the board at the '2021 World Chef Culinary Cup Korea.'
The competition was co-hosted by the Korean Food Culinary Culture Association and the Master Chef Korea Association.
The two-day event held on the 5th and 6th was organized to discover and nurture culinary talents early and to promote the development of the domestic culinary field. It was divided into general, university, and high school divisions.
Twelve students from the Department of Hotel Culinary Nutrition who participated in the university division individual competition presented 12 creative dishes including seafood and chicken terrine, blueberry salmon steak, and fig chocolate mousse cake.
In the individual exhibition category, nine students from the Department of Hotel Culinary Nutrition?Lee Yong-joo, Choi Ho-hyun, Kwak Jae-young, Kim Min-seon, Kim Jin-woo, Na Seon-yong, Lee Min-joo, Jung Min-seok, and Jung Jin-woo?won gold medals, while three students?Kim Jun-beom, Shin Go-eun, and Jung Mu-wi?won gold medals in the individual live category.
Professor Kim Ho-kyung, advisor of the on-campus club and professor of the Department of Hotel Culinary Nutrition, also received the Best Advisor Award.
Professor Kim Ho-kyung said, “I am proud of the students who passionately prepared for the competition.”
