[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Sumi] Jin Joong-kwon, former professor at Dongyang University, criticized Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate, who visited the Daejang-dong development site in Seongnam, calling him a "truly unique personality."
On the 29th, Jin shared an article on his Facebook about Lee’s visit to the Seongnam 1st Industrial Complex neighborhood park construction site and made the comment.
Jin said, "Compared to this person (Lee), Cho Kuk is cute," and pointed out, "The country was turned upside down by corruption, yet he praises it as an achievement."
He added, "It’s like a failing student who scored zero insisting on a perfect score and demanding an honor award if graded by his own standards."
Earlier, Jin had targeted Lee’s Daejang-dong allegations in another post the previous day. He claimed, "Embezzlement and bribery are two sides of the same coin, so the big picture has basically come out." However, he also said, "The problem is that Lee Jae-myung is so meticulous that he has created legal loopholes to escape."
Jin also mentioned suspicions that Hwang Mu-seong, former president of Seongnam Urban Development Corporation, was pressured to resign by Yuhan-gi, former head of the development business division at the same corporation. He said, "Look at how Hwang Mu-seong was cut off. It’s a typical mafia boss method," adding, "'Asura' plus 'Catch Me If You Can,' you might say."
Meanwhile, on the 29th, Lee visited the construction site of the Seongnam 1st Industrial Complex neighborhood park, which began development through a combined development method where the developer of Daejang-dong bears the costs.

This is the first time Lee has visited the related site since the Daejang-dong development special favor allegations surfaced. This is interpreted as a determination to shake off the Daejang-dong allegations ahead of the official presidential campaign activities, including the launch of the campaign committee and the announcement of the "No. 1 pledge" on the 2nd of next month.
After touring the site, Lee told reporters regarding real estate policy, "For high-ranking public officials, except for essential real estate, we will introduce a blind trust system like stocks to either sell all or entrust for forced sale, together with the Democratic Party," adding, "We plan to make real estate acquisition review system, blind trust system, and exclusion from promotion and appointment for high-ranking officials official policies of the party candidate soon at the campaign committee."
He continued, "For lower and mid-level public officials and those involved in urban planning and national land development plans, we will introduce a pre-acquisition review system to prevent acquisition of real estate except for essential properties," and said, "Even if the law is not enacted, we will implement a policy excluding those who own real estate other than essential properties from promotion or appointment above a certain rank."
