[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jin-ho] Jang Jeong-gu, the World Boxing Council (WBC) light flyweight champion, has been handed over to the prosecution.
On the morning of the 25th, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced that they had sent the case to the prosecution with a recommendation for indictment, applying charges of assaulting a driver under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes.
Jang is accused of assaulting a taxi driver during an argument while getting out of a taxi in an intoxicated state last August.
