[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] KT experienced a communication access failure starting around 11:20 AM on the 25th, causing a major disruption in internet and mobile connectivity.

Until 11:58 AM that day, KT internet (wired) and mobile (wireless) subscribers nationwide, including Seoul, faced difficulties using the services.

Both wireless and wired networks experienced access failures, causing not only general customers but also self-employed individuals and B2B corporate clients' servers to have trouble connecting.

Corporate clients using KT lines rerouted through SK Broadband and LG Uplus, which also affected the overall wired internet speed. In some areas, general customers reported inconvenience due to reduced internet speeds.

A KT official stated, "The cause of the failure is still under investigation."
