According to the Korea Film Council’s integrated box office data on the 25th, ‘Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage’ (hereafter ‘Venom 2’) attracted 343,012 viewers over the weekend from the 22nd to the 24th, securing first place at the box office. Since its release on the 13th, it has recorded a cumulative audience of 1,649,441.
‘Venom 2’ is an action blockbuster depicting an inevitable showdown between the lovable villain hero Venom (Tom Hardy) and the worst villain in history, Carnage (Woody Harrelson), who appears to herald an era of chaos.
‘Dune,’ which marked its first weekend since release, drew 275,959 viewers and ranked second. Since its release on the 20th, it has been seen by 383,173 people.
‘Dune’ started strong with over 60,000 viewers on its opening day, taking first place, but then settled into second place behind ‘Venom 2.’ ‘Venom 2’ maintained the weekend box office top spot in its second week.
During the same period, ‘007 No Time to Die’ ranked third, followed by ‘The Last Duel’ in fourth place.
The total number of moviegoers over the weekend was counted at 745,125, which is about a 20% decrease compared to approximately 960,000 the previous week.
