Professor Kim Jae-ho of Chosun University Hospital Awarded 'Best Paper in Vascular Field'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Professor Kim Jaeho of the Department of Neurosurgery at Chosun University Hospital received the 'Best Paper Award in the Vascular Section (Lee Heonjae Academic Award)' at the 61st Annual Fall Scientific Meeting of the Korean Neurosurgical Society held from the 14th to the 16th of last month at Songdo Convensia, Incheon.

Professor Kim participated as the first author in the paper titled "The Association Between Marfan Syndrome and Intracranial Aneurysms: A Single Cohort Retrospective Study of 118 Patients Using Brain Imaging."

This paper was highly recognized for its research achievements, being published in the January 2021 issue of the internationally prestigious American Stroke Association journal, Stroke.

Through this study, Professor Kim suggested that patients with Marfan syndrome have a high prevalence of cerebral aneurysms and possess unique characteristics.

In particular, by clarifying the controversial association between cerebral aneurysms and Marfan syndrome in the academic community, the study was evaluated as contributing to the research and treatment of cerebral aneurysms, whose causes remain unclear.
