[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] The Seocho District Council's research group, ‘The Better Value Seocho’ (Chairman Jinam Park), concluded the service project titled ‘Analysis and Improvement Measures of Consignment Business Operation Status’ and held a final report meeting on the 12th in the 1st Committee Room.
The report meeting was attended by Chairman Jinam Park, along with council members Jungwoo Kim, Jongsook Ahn, and Sungjoo Kim, who serve as secretaries.
Starting with the opening remarks by Chairman Jinam Park, the research results from the Nara Salim Research Institute, which conducted the commissioned study, were presented. After the report, questions from attending council members helped identify current issues in Seocho District’s private consignment affairs in preparation for the upcoming administrative audit, and discussions were held on improvements to related regulations such as the Private Consignment Affairs Ordinance.
The research project was initiated in April to secure service efficiency, professionalism, and publicness in private consignment affairs amid increasing demand for administrative services, and to reduce budget waste. Through site visits to private consignment facilities such as comprehensive cleaning facilities and five regular meetings, improvement directions were derived in areas including prevention of habitual long-term contracts, strengthening accounting transparency, and protecting workers’ rights.
Jinam Park, chairman of ‘The Better Value Seocho,’ stated, “Various administrative tasks are being promoted through private consignment affairs, so continuous efforts are needed for procedural compliance and evaluation,” adding, “We hope this will serve as an opportunity to improve services for district residents by strengthening the publicness and transparency of private consignment affairs that cause budget waste and social problems, and by ensuring proper evaluation across all affairs.”
