Village Vitality Center, Book Cafe Dadokdadok, and Other Community Hub Spaces Present Various Programs
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon) will hold the 'Gangdong Village Harmony Festival' for six days from the 25th to the 30th under the theme "Precious Neighbors! Precious Daily Life!" with the hope of regaining the lost daily life due to COVID-19 through the power of the village community.
This festival will be held both online through the Gangdong Village Harmony Festival website and offline at ▲Open Yard in front of the district office ▲Village Vitality Centers ▲Book Cafe Dadokdadok Branches 1 and 2 ▲Gangdong Village Media Support Center, designed so that all residents can safely enjoy the festival.
The online program can be accessed through the Gangdong Village Harmony Festival website, which opens on the 29th. The website features various video content introducing village community activities and village spaces, and stages performed by village artists can also be enjoyed online.
On October 30th, the ‘Gangdong Village Class’ where participants can make their own ukulele and the online flea market ‘Village e-Market’ will be broadcast live.
Various programs will also be held in village community spaces. ▲At the Village Vitality Centers located in each hub, there are daily life recovery experience programs such as the ‘Village Retro Experience Center’ (Cheonho Village Vitality Center), ‘Village Psychological Playground’ (Gangil Village Vitality Center), and ‘Village Healing Cafe’ (Seongnae Eoulter).
At Book Cafe Dadokdadok Branches 1 and 2, the ‘Give a Book and Take a Book’ program is held where people donate books they have read and take books they need, and at the Gangdong Village Media Support Center, visitors have the opportunity to experience animation dubbing and become announcers and advertising models.
Also, at the Open Yard in front of the district office, a 10th-anniversary commemorative performance of the village community achieved through cooperation and an exhibition reviewing the achievements of the village community over the past 10 years will be held.
Lee Jeong-hoon, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, said, “I hope this village festival, prepared through various channels, will be a time for residents to feel the precious daily life forgotten due to COVID-19 together with their neighbors.”
