On the 19th, the Incheon Western Police Station announced that firefighter A (29) was booked without detention on charges of obstruction of official duties and insult.
A is accused of obstructing official duties by pushing a police officer and using abusive language on a road in Seo-gu, Incheon, at around 8:36 PM the previous day. Intoxicated at the time, he ran onto the road, blocking passing vehicles and causing a disturbance. Afterward, police officers who responded to a passerby's report arrived, and he committed the offense.
Even after being placed in a patrol car and taken to a nearby police substation for questioning, A continued to act disorderly and used abusive language.
The police confirmed A's identity and initially allowed him to go home, planning to summon him again soon for a detailed investigation of the incident. A police official stated, "We accompanied him voluntarily to the substation to verify his identity," adding, "He was heavily intoxicated, making interrogation difficult, so we decided to let him go home for now."
