The First Evening of Chuseok Holiday... [Asia Economy Reporter Lee Chun-hee] On the evening of the first day of the Chuseok holiday, the 18th, traffic flow is smooth on most sections of highways nationwide.


According to Korea Expressway Corporation, as of 8:45 PM on the 18th, congestion is only occurring on the Gyeongbu Expressway toward Busan between Jamwon and Seocho for 3 km. Other major highways including the Gyeongbu Expressway toward Seoul, Seohaean Expressway, Capital Region 1st Ring Expressway, Jungbu Expressway, and Yeongdong Expressway are all experiencing smooth traffic flow throughout their entire sections.


As of 9 PM on the same day, the travel times from Seoul Tollgate to major cities are as follows: Busan 4 hours 30 minutes, Ulsan 4 hours 10 minutes, Daegu 3 hours 30 minutes, Gwangju 3 hours 20 minutes, Daejeon 1 hour 30 minutes, and Gangneung 2 hours 40 minutes.
