Providing Opportunities for Cultural Enjoyment Through Educational Programs
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Damyang-gun Cultural Foundation Haedong Culture and Arts Village will carry out various cultural and artistic programs in the second half of the year.
In the field of visual arts, the “Wrinkles of Memory” exhibition is ongoing at Area Gallery until the 31st of next month.
In connection with this, in Sodongdong, the exhibition “Dot·One; Intersection of Impossible Coexistence” is also being held, questioning how various “pieces” of children’s memories form one world.
In the performing arts field, “Encore Haedong” presents diverse performing arts by inviting professional artists on the last Saturday of every month. Additionally, through the visiting performance program “Metaverse,” professional performing arts will be brought directly to culturally underserved areas within the region.
In education, programs are conducted in two parts: “Imagination Wings” and “Performing Arts Outside School” for future generations, and specialized humanities lectures “Cafe Philo” and “TokTokTok (The Scene of Public Art).”
“Imagination Wings” and “Performing Arts Outside School” are held every Saturday for children and adolescents, designed to cultivate the artistic capabilities of future generations based on art and music and to increase interest in various cultural and artistic fields.
“Cafe Philo” is a humanities and arts lecture series themed on city, art, and travel, while “TokTokTok” aims to attract local residents’ interest and promote joint growth of experts and administrators through discourse by public art specialists.
All programs at Haedong Culture and Arts Village will be operated more safely by adhering to COVID-19 quarantine guidelines, including limits on the number of participants, advance reservations, and social distancing policies.
