[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Yoo Doo-seok) will hold a discount event to celebrate the reopening of the Jangseongho Waterfront Market on the 28th and 29th.
According to the county on the 24th, the Waterfront Market has been operating as a direct agricultural product marketplace since 2019.
This event offers a 20% discount on all items in the store, and customers who purchase more than 5,000 won will receive a gift set composed of Jangseong agricultural products.
Utilizing the tourist demand of the Jangseongho waterfront path, which attracts an average of 7,000 visitors on weekends, the market is expanding sales channels for local agricultural products.
Since its opening in March, it has been actively operated, recording sales of about 170 million won until last month.
In particular, it has attracted attention by creating a synergy effect with the waterfront path gift certificate exchange system. This system allows visitors to pay 3,000 won upon entering the waterfront path and exchange it for the same amount in local currency, the ‘Jangseong Love Gift Certificate.’
Visitors using the gift certificates at the Waterfront Market have contributed to increased sales, and the market temporarily closed this month to avoid the heat.
At the Waterfront Market, you can find fresh and sweet seasonal fruits such as Shine Muscat grapes, Jaok grapes, and passion fruit, as well as fresh vegetables and various cypress wood products.
The Waterfront Market operates every Saturday and Sunday until December.
However, if it rains, the reopening discount event may be postponed by one week to the 4th and 5th of next month.
A county official said, “We prepared this discount event to express our gratitude to the visitors of the Waterfront Market,” adding, “We will strictly follow quarantine rules such as disinfection, ventilation, and providing hand sanitizers to ensure safe use.”
