[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Former Blue House administrator Heo Hyun-joon urged Lee Jun-seok, leader of the People Power Party, on the 5th to "cross the river of shamelessness" and request the release of former President Park Geun-hye.

Heo, who worked in the Blue House's Office of Public Communication during the Park Geun-hye administration, said on his Facebook that day, "At the age of over 70, it has been a staggering 1,588 days. Even if sudden pain comes like a blade, even if invisible fear and loneliness hit like a tsunami, in that place where (former President Park) can only groan without even a complaint, she has spent a lonely four and a half years," expressing his plea.

He addressed Lee, saying, "Whether you crossed the river of impeachment or consider your current position as party leader a result of your own talent and ability, let that be your conviction and political choice," but questioned, "What is this indifference, cruelty, and lack of loyalty toward the benefactor and political mentor who opened your path?"

Previously, Lee was appointed as a member of the Saenuri Party Emergency Committee under Park Geun-hye's Emergency Committee system in December 2011 and was called a 'Park Geun-hye kid.'

Heo said, "Do you not see at all the deep wounds and pain your political benefactor and mentor is going through?" and sharply criticized, "Is your political calculation in a fourth dimension while shame and loyalty are in minus fourth dimension?"

He continued, "'Don't treat me like a rookie, salute according to rank'?your words fall to the ground and spread in the air. If you don't want to be treated like a rookie, you must act differently," and pointed out, "Do you want to be respected by rank while mocking and ignoring your mentor, acting shamelessly?"

He also emphasized, "Is it really so difficult and agonizing to urge President Moon Jae-in and the Democratic Party to 'release former President Park immediately'?" and added, "There is little time left to request and urge a pardon. Whatever the form, step forward without hesitation."

Finally, Heo concluded his post by saying, "The party leadership should all step up. Only a few days remain. This is the last chance. 'Those who gain will lose, and those who lose will gain.'"

Earlier, former President Park's secretariat issued a statement on the 4th, emphasizing, "Former President Park was dragged to prison amid collective madness and subjected to all kinds of unspeakable false attacks. She has been confined in solitary confinement for nearly four and a half years, suffering indescribable mental and physical pain."

They added, "If the hardship of the first female president of the Republic of Korea, who once carried the nation's future on her shoulders and was active on the world stage, prolongs, that pain will remain an irreparable national wound," demanding the release of former President Park.
