Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority Labor and Management Joint Declaration for Regional Coexistence Practice

[Gwangyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seonsik] Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority labor and management have agreed to actively practice regional coexistence together.

Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Cha Minsik) and the Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority Labor Union (Chairman Nam Cheolhee) declared at the 'Labor-Management Joint Practice Declaration Ceremony' held at the World Marine Center on the 4th that both sides will do their best to prevent COVID-19 infections through the port.

In particular, both labor and management agreed to purchase part of the public enterprise management evaluation performance bonuses as local love gift certificates to coexist with the local community.

Last year, the authority proposed that employees purchase local love gift certificates.

This year, the labor union took the initiative to propose purchasing local love gift certificates for coexistence with the local community, and all employees agreed with the proposal.

Accordingly, the authority's employees decided to individually purchase local love gift certificates equivalent to 10% of the 2020 management evaluation performance bonuses.

Labor Union Chairman Nam Cheolhee explained, "Due to COVID-19, the whole country is struggling with social distancing levels 3 to 4. The labor union thought it was necessary to contribute to the local community and proposed this to management."

In response, President Cha Minsik stated, "Our authority is doing its best in ESG management to the extent that we discuss and practice social responsibility with the labor union. Not only for COVID-19 but also for the post-COVID era, labor and management will cooperate to respond and lead the development of Gwangyang Port and Yeosu Port."
