Jeonju City-Nonghyup Sign Carbon Neutrality Business Agreement

On the 2nd, Jeonju City announced that Mayor Kim Seung-su of Jeonju, Song Hyuk, head of NH Nonghyup Jeonju-Wanju branch, Lim In-gyu, chairman of Jeonju Nonghyup, Lee Woo-kwang, chairman of Bukjeonju Nonghyup, Kim Chang-su, chairman of Jeonju Gimje Wanju Livestock Cooperative, and Kim Woo-cheol, chairman of Jeonju Horticultural Nonghyup, signed the 'Jeonju City-Nonghyup Carbon Neutrality Business Agreement.'
Jeonju City and the regional Nonghyup banks will establish a cooperative system to realize '2050 Carbon Neutrality' through △building energy transition infrastructure △improving building energy efficiency △supporting preferential interest rate services for citizens practicing low-carbon green living △practicing greenhouse gas reduction in daily life △reducing coal financing and expanding climate finance △linking ESG projects with Jeonju City's carbon neutrality projects.
Additionally, they agreed to actively practice green living in daily life by △operating public transportation usage days △turning off unnecessary lights during lunchtime △expanding energy-saving systems for electronic devices (such as electronic timer outlets) △continuously conducting carbon neutrality campaigns.
Prior to this, Jeonju City signed a carbon neutrality business agreement with Jeonbuk Bank on the 13th of last month.
Jeonju City is promoting '2050 Carbon Neutrality,' which aims to reduce net carbon emissions to '0' by 2050.
Mayor Kim Seung-su of Jeonju said, "We must actively practice together with citizens to protect the right to live from climate disasters and to allow future generations to breathe freely, dream, and grow." He added, "We will expand participation from institutions and the private sector, including the financial sector, and provide citizen-tailored education to gather administrative power to become a '2050 Carbon Neutral City.'"
