[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] A-Root announced on the 2nd through a public disclosure that it has signed a POS (Point Of Sale) printer supply contract worth 6.2 billion KRW with the largest POS manufacturer in Korea.
This supply contract corresponds to 18% of A-Root's consolidated sales last year, and the contract period extends until the end of 2024. Through this contract, A-Root is expected to secure stable sales and advance as the No.1 POS printer manufacturer in Korea.
An A-Root official stated, "This contract is a long-term supply agreement signed with the No.1 POS manufacturer in Korea, which reflects the market's recognition of the quality and price competitiveness of A-Root printer products," adding, "We expect various synergies through collaboration between the two companies in the future."
A-Root has been manufacturing and selling industrial printers for the past 20 years. It has an overseas sales network in more than 200 locations across over 70 countries worldwide. Recently, by launching premium mobile printers and through continuous technological development, it is solidifying its position in the market as a specialized industrial printer company.
According to global market research firms such as Technavio and Coherent, the POS printer market has been steadily growing at a rate of about 7%. With the digitalization of stores and the increase of unmanned stores, the POS printer market is expected to continue growing.
Meanwhile, A-Root is also actively pursuing new business ventures. In May, it made a strategic investment in Virocure, a specialized anticancer virus company, signing a contract that includes additional investments depending on the progress of clinical trials. Then, in June, it acquired a 30.7% stake in Woojin Holdings, incorporating Woojin Gijeon, an integrated power platform company, as an affiliate.
